The Acticoat 7 by Smith & Nephew is an antimicrobial dressing designed for wound care. The 6 x 6 inch (15 cm x 15 cm) variant provides adequate coverage for larger wounds. This dressing consists of five layers: two absorbent rayon/polyester layers between three layers of low-adherent polyethylene net coated with silver.

• Moist wound environment: The dressing's design helps maintain a moist environment at the wound surface, promoting faster and more effective healing. 
• Low adherence: The silver-coated polyethylene layers are designed to minimize adherence to the wound bed, facilitating dressing removal and reducing tissue trauma. 

Usage Indications:

Acticoat 7 is indicated as an antimicrobial barrier layer over partial and full-thickness wounds, including pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, first and second-degree burns, surgical wounds, and donor sites.
