The Acticoat 7 by Smith & Nephew is an antimicrobial dressing designed for wound care. This 4 x 5 inch (10 cm x 12.5 cm) dressing consists of five layers: two absorbent rayon/polyester layers between three layers of low-adherent polyethylene net coated with silver.

• Broad-spectrum antimicrobial: The nanocrystalline silver coating serves as an effective barrier against a wide range of microorganisms, killing bacteria in as little as 30 minutes, 2 to 5 times faster than other forms of silver. 
• Extended wear time: Provides effective antimicrobial protection for up to 7 days, reducing the frequency of dressing changes and enhancing patient convenience. 
• Moist wound environment: The dressing's design helps maintain a moist environment at the wound surface, promoting faster and more effective healing. 
• Low adherence: The silver-coated polyethylene layers are designed to minimize adherence to the wound bed, facilitating dressing removal and reducing tissue trauma. 

Usage Indications:

Acticoat 7 is indicated as an antimicrobial barrier layer over partial and full-thickness wounds, including pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, partial-thickness burns, and donor sites.
